What to verify
- The room type, access, and practical amenities.
- Distance from transport and the trip’s main anchor.
- When payment is collected.
- The cancellation deadline and penalty.
- Any card guarantee, deposit, hold, or separate property fee.
Unusual does not mean commitment-free
Small or independent properties may have limited inventory and stricter change rules. A pay-later rate may still require a card and may become nonrefundable after a deadline.
