Five conditions to review separately
Payment timingDoes the booking page charge now, later, or at the property?

Card guaranteeIs a card required to hold the reservation even when payment is collected later?
Deposit or holdCan the property place an incidentals hold or collect a deposit at check-in?
Total costWhich taxes, parking charges, resort fees, or local fees are separate?
Terms that are often confused
“Pay later” does not automatically mean free cancellation. It describes when payment may be collected, not whether the reservation can be changed without a penalty.
“No prepayment” does not automatically mean no card is required. A card may still be needed to guarantee the room or cover incidentals.
A flexible rate is not a permanent promise from the hotel. Conditions can change by room type, supplier, date, and rate plan.
